What is it about? Obviously, it’s about Nature. But, it’s really about our connection to Nature. What does it provide for man? How do we take advantage of Nature, while not destroying it? What all is Nature? Let me try and explain my take. 
Most people consider Nature to be some serene place away from the influence of man. The woods, the un-plowed fields and quite lakes and streams. They would certainly be correct, that is Nature, but I look at Nature as being the earthly, living realm of God.
People seem to think that living in a city removes you from the realities of what we are, a natural animal with natural survival instincts. We, in fact, are as much a part of Nature as any creature. The difference being, we create our own habitat and rules of conduct within our herd, or what we call society. But our desire to obtain the basics of life such as food, water, shelter and to reproduce is no less ingrained into who or what we are, than it is in a wolf or a deer. Threaten a person’s ability to have those things and you can create a very dangerous animal.
That’s not to say God didn’t create us to be at the top of the Natural World, he did, but still a part of the Natural World, just the same. Which leads me to the very top of the Natural World…God himself. Yes. God is Natural. He encompasses all things Natural and all that is. In fact, as a creature of God, we are a creature of Nature.
So Man, all living creatures, and God are what makes Nature…Nature. Whether in a city or the most remote places on earth. 
So why the “Access” part of Nature’s Access? Because even though everyone lives in Nature, people have lost contact with the fact that they are apart of the Natural World. Most people don’t realize that when they walk down a dark street at night and the hair on the back of their necks stand up and they feel uncomfortable, they are experiencing a Natural Survival Instinct. Instead, they were “freaked out”. People have lost the connection as to what they were experiencing. God’s gift of the ability to sense danger.
We have also lost the dependency on Gods survival gifts of Natural Medicine, Food and Utility plants, animals and materials. The fact is, God created an amazing amount of Natural Resources that are useful to man that people don’t take advantage of. In other words, they don’t “access” the gifts all around them.
God has provided absolutely everything we need to survive in generous quality and quantities. Just how did people survive over the centuries before modern “everything” if those things weren’t provided? But man has drifted away from the gifts that are provided and now depends on the ingenuity and creations of man himself. No, it’s not lost on me that God provided man the ability to create, but it is man that must decide what to do with that ability and make wise choices with that ability. Just because you can build something, it doesn’t mean you should.
By stepping away from the awareness of our part in Nature, I believe we are stepping away from our awareness of who we are and what Nature is, which is…God. As we look towards Man as the answers to our every need, we forget that God himself is the answer to our every need.
That is Nature’s Access. It is an attempt to reintroduce people to the beauties of God’s creation. To educate people (and myself) about the Natural World around them. To offer survival knowledge and sometimes an off beat opinion about why that knowledge is more and more important everyday. The most important thing of all is to instill in people that we must reconnect with who we are as a creation of God and thereby reconnect with God himself.
Sometimes I get wrapped up in the botanical education, political and societal atmosphere and business end of Nature’s Access and forget why I started this journey. So this post is a reminder to myself as much as an explanation to my readers about what is important. To reconnect with God the Father by excepting his blessings and gifts and being thankful and humbled for his generosity.
